A Day at Home in Whitewater Landing

Whitewater Landing is a Chapin neighborhood built for lake-adjacent living, and the house at 908 Salisbury Ct sits right in the middle of it. Here is how a normal day plays out.

The morning

Coffee starts on the vaulted screened porch, which faces the fenced backyard. The school run heads toward Chapin's schools, and the work commute points toward I-26 and Columbia, with a drive that varies by traffic and destination. The drop station by the garage entrance catches backpacks, keys, and the mail before anyone asks where they went.

The afternoon

The community pool and clubhouse sit inside Whitewater Landing, which keeps summer afternoons close to home. Boat storage is available in the neighborhood, subject to availability and fees, and the nearest public boat ramp is about a two-minute drive away. The ramp is off the property and outside the neighborhood, so it is a nearby public launch with no deeded access.

The evening

Dinner happens with the cook in the kitchen and everyone else in the great room, the open plan doing what open plans are for. After dinner, the house splits gracefully: a show in the bonus room upstairs, quiet in the primary suite on the main level, and a second main-level bedroom with its own bath ready for whoever is staying over. Timberlake Country Club, about five minutes away for golf and dining, is there for the nights that deserve an occasion; membership and fees are separate from Whitewater Landing.

The weekend

Lake Murray, about 50,000 acres of it, handles the rest: fishing, sailing, or just the drive past the water on the way to Chapin's coffee shops and restaurants. The house is near the lake with easy access to everything it offers, though there is no waterfront, lakefront, or lake view from this lot.
